Primary areas of practice include appeals, arts & entertainment, expert evidence consultation, business law, probate, real estate and construction law, and select international transactions. He recently represented San Pedro Club, Ltd, a Belize Corporation, in negotiation of the sale and merger of the business with Exotic Caye Beach Resort, to form Grand Bayman Belize, Ltd., for the purpose of developing a condominium resort in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. He provides regular consultation in post-trial matters to the law firm of Shayne & Gasper, LLC.
Arts & Entertainment Law
Stephen A. Brunette represents musicians, songwriters, performers, producers, authors, screenwriters, production companies in various legal matters -- such as copyrights, trademarks, licensing, production agreements, publishing agreements, recording agreements, business planning and development -- in the rapidly changing arts, entertainment and publishing industries. He also takes personal excursions into songwriting, recording, production, and music business development. He is legal counsel to the Pikes Peak Blues Community.
Appeals
Stephen A. Brunette has devoted a substantial part of his legal career to analyzing appellate opinions, authoring articles for legal publications, and writing appellate briefs. He handles civil and criminal appeals in State and Federal Courts in Colorado, and is available to contract with attorneys throughout the United States concerning draft appellate issues in other jurisdictions.
Expert Evidence Consultation -- "An Expert on the Experts"
A substantial part of Stephen A. Brunette's career as a lawyer has been devoted to the field of forensic sciences, including authoring or editing several legal publications, designing and providing CLE programs, and serving pro bono on various national boards and committees in the field. A substantial part of his practice consists of consultation and contract service to lawyers in litigation and appeals that involve forensic science issues.
